Background:	ABA2/GIN1/SIS4 is a cytosolic short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase. It catalyzes the conversion of xanthoxin to ABA-aldehyde, a key step in abscisic acid (ABA) biosynthesis. Mutants are insensitive to sucrose and glucose.
