Background:	NAC042/JUB1 is a nuclear NAC transcription factor induced by hydrogen peroxide. It functions as a negative regulator of leaf senescence and a central longevity regulator. Overexpression delays senescence and enhances tolerance to various abiotic stresses. It modulates cellular H₂O₂ levels and regulates DREB2A.
