ABA2 is a cytosolic short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase involved in the conversion of xanthoxin to ABA-aldehyde during ABA biosynthesis. It plays important roles in angiosperm physiology and survival, including driving stomatal closure, inducing seed dormancy and aiding desiccation and salinity tolerance. |
