Background:	OsSAPK9 is a nuclear serine/threonine protein kinase belonging to the SnRK2 family. It is activated by ABA and osmotic stress. It functions as a positive regulator of drought and salt tolerance, and disease resistance (bacterial blight). It also regulates ABA biosynthesis, stomatal closure, osmotic potential, and stress-responsive gene expression.
